If the screen on your Hudl2 doesn’t seem to be responding 100% correctly but there is no sign of any damage to the glass, then you need to test it properly. There are plenty of apps for testing the touch screen available on the play store. My personal favourite is called “Touch Screen Test” and you can see it in action in the video below.
After repairing hundreds of Hudl 2 tablets I can confirm that 99% of the time with an undamaged screen, problems of this nature are caused by a faulty motherboard. There is nothing worse that a tablet that appears to work fine, but has an issue with touch response, as this will destroy your user experience and reduce it to one of extreme frustration. Most games become unplayable and it’s generally a miserable experience all around.
The only way to fix it is to replace the motherboard. There are of course two approaches to this. You can either do it yourself, or we can replace the motherboard for you. The DIY approach come with the added complication that you need to find someone selling a fully working Hudl 2 motherboard. As time passed, these are become rarer than hens teeth. Currently the only reliable way of sourcing one is to purchase a Hudl2 with a broken screen on eBay that does boot up. The only problem with this is that you’ll have no guarantee that that the motherboard in the broken Hudl 2 doesn’t have other problems. In a worse case scenario it might have the same problem as your original motherboard.
