The Hudl 2 is notorious for it’s poor battery life.
Manufacturers take a conservative approach and specify the life of Li-ion in most consumer products as being between 300 and 500 discharge/charge cycles. Which realistically means that you are likely to see issues with the battery on a Hudl2 after about 2 – 3 years of continuous regular use.
When the battery stops working on a Hudl2, this is one of the simplest things to fix. However, it’s frequently possible to assume that the battery is at fault, when the problem is with the motherboard. If the motherboard is faulty, this will exhibit the same symptoms as a faulty battery. I.E. the device won’t charge. The best approach is to try replacing the battery as a first step. If this doesn’t resolve the problem, then try replacing the motherboard.
