Hudl2 Diagnostics: I have forgotten my password or lock screen code or pattern.

All is not lost at this stage, apart from all of your data, videos and photos. Unfortunately, there is no way to access an android device such as the Hudl2 if you have forgotten the password. If you have upgraded to Lollipop firmware all of your data is encrypted and only accessible if you have the password. The simply advice here is that if you assign a password, don’t forget it. The only option to get your Hudl 2 working again with all your data intact is to try and remember the password. This isn’t always impossible. Indeed sometimes sleeping on a problem like this can help as the forgotten information might bubble it’s way to the surface from your subconscious while you sleep. If you genuinely can’t remember it, it’s time to factory reset your Hudl 2.

This will wipe all of your data. You will lose everything you have ever stored on the Hudl2. It will behave exactly like you had just taken it out of the box for the first time. Now, depending on your approach to backups, this may not be a problem. For example, if you have configured your Hudl2 to automatically backup your photos to a cloud based service, then you’ll still have access to them. The apps you have previously download can be restored from your Google Play account.

If you would like to complete a factory reset on your Hudl 2, please follow the instructions on this page:
